If you know me you know that one of my favorite things in the world are movies.  I love watching them. I end almost every day with at least a portion of a movie. Sometimes a new one, sometimes not.  Movies have no commercials, you can get story lines to match pretty much any mood, and for me they are a just a way to chill and stop thinking for a while before bed.  Netflix, On demand, Blockbuster, Buying DVD’s. I do it all. Aside from watching movies I have a fascination with the production.  The big budgets, the casting, the promotion, the sets…It’s just crazy what goes into pumping out 90 minutes of entertainment.  I recently went up and checked out Warner Brothers Studios. We saw the back lots and some of the sets. Here are some of the pictures from the areas we were allowed to take pictures.

The Warner Brothers tower.  I found out that the studio was founded by actual brothers. There were four of them.  There is a whole building that is set up like a library that movies can rent props. I saw the building they used for some of the casino scenes in Oceans 13 and how they created the roof top scene at the end when they use the helicopter to steal Al Pacino’s diamonds. That was filmed on the ground with green screens…not even on a building.

I thought this was pretty cool. This is the stair well that Billy goes down in the beginning of Gremlins to get Gizmo.

I listed a bunch of recent movies form a list I found online that have been done by Warner Brothers.  For some reaosn the studio’s prid and joy seems to be Friends. They have a dedicated stage called the Friends Studio, Stage 24.  Most of teh sets get broken down and trashed once shooting is over but this is the one set they kept totally in tact.  They moved it from stage 24 but kept all the original pieces together. Maybe because they filmed for so long that it has sentimental value ot the studio.  I’ll admit it, I thought it was cool when I was in there. They let us sit on the couch.

Here are a few cars in one of the museum buildings. Batman (I think the one with George Clooney). The motorcycle form the Dark Knight. Austin Powers. And Gran Torino.

Here are some recent movies from Warner Brothers I pulled from online.
